YIH Announcements

The eruv is up for Shabbos.

We extend heartfelt condolences to Stephani Serotta and family on the passing of Stephani's mother, Shirlee Rovner, obm. As it stands now, shiva will be at the Serotta home (11702 Woodknoll Lane) from Monday morning until Thursday morning. May the family be comforted among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Young Israel is proud to host a special chinuch shiur on Shabbos afternoon at 6:45 pm by Rabbi Shaya Karlinsky, Rosh HaYeshiva of Darchei Noam/Shapell's, Yerushalayim. Thank you to the Kollel of Houston Torah Center for making this shiur possible. Rabbi Karlinsky will also be speaking at a Friday night oneg at the home of Yonah & Rivkie Nathan (11819 Pepperdine Lane), at 9:45pm, on the topic of Jewish Unity & Jewish Diversity, and after the Young Israel Hashkama Minyan on the prohibition of factionalism in Jewish communities.

A special Kiddush honoring Dr. David Jacobson, for his three (!) years in this (his second!) stint as President, honoring outgoing Board members, and as a special farewell to Rachie & Ari Gold, as they prepare to make aliyah, is scheduled for next Shabbos, June 15. Those wishing to participate who have not done so already should notify Marlene in the office.

Refuah shleimah to Chayala (Chaya Chana bas Kayla Shifra)Warren, who is recuperating in the hospital from an infection.

Farewell and best wishes to Adam & Dani Kabins on their relocation to Dallas.

The Shul is seeking two volunteers to help prepare seudah shlishiteach week. Previous experience not required, and we offer on-the-job training.

The Shul's ice machine needs to be replaced. See David Schwartz if you would like to make a really cool contribution to the Shul.

Happy trails to those heading out to summer destinations.
